The Origins and Framework of the ReSource Yourself Method

Energy Psychology focuses on the inter-relationship of the body’s energy systems with a person’s emotions, mind and behavior. It adds an energetic perspective to the traditional vision of psychopathology and health, and looks at patterns within the body-mind-energy system. All energy psychology methods affect the electrical activity of the nervous system, acupuncture meridians, chakras and biofields. Thereby they change emotions, mental patterns and physical symptoms in a generally quick and durable way.

The concept behind Energy Psychology is to gently allow a release and a shift to occur, bringing out freedom from traumatic events or just minor issues. The release brings about a positive shift in how a person sees and experiences the world, regulates emotions and relates to other people.

The most widely known energy therapies are the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Thought Field Therapy (TFT), Acupuncture, Hypnosis, Tapas Acupressure Technique, and Applied Kinesiology (muscle testing). There are many more approaches integrating concepts from different old and new fields of expertise: shamanism, quantum physics, neuroscience, acupuncture meridian theory, biology, medicine, quiropractic, and psychology.

Origins

Energy psychology was originally created in order to bring the life energies of the individual human soul back into balance. Most forms of Energy Psychology have only been known since the mid-1980s. However, they date back to ancient times with their firm grounding in Eastern medicine from 5000 years ago. Today’s Energy Psychology blends the bio-energetic insights of these ancient Eastern traditions with the best of contemporary psychological practice. Acupuncture, chakras, the subtle energies, Yoga, Qi Gong, and Applied Kinesiology (Emotional Kinesiology) are theoretical underpinnings of Energy Psychology. The newer field of quantum physics and the electrical experiments of Tesla have led to a further understanding of why these counseling techniques work.

Energy Psychology is the Framework for the ReSource Yourself Method and its Tools

The main theoretical basis is the Map of the Levels of Consciousness and the investigation conducted and published by the American psychiatrist, spiritual teacher and researcher Dr. David R. Hawkins.

The investigation around Reconnective Healing, conducted by Dr. Eric Pearl, confirms the idea that it is possible to change the energy in the body by focusing on attention, rather then intention. His approach frequently brings about immediate and permanent healing experiences, and has been a big source of inspiration and growth for the ReSource Yourself Method.
